Da Sidhu, the first Indian and Italian restaurant in Ibiza

Da Sidhu, the first indian restaurant in Ibiza, was founded in 1986, at the Residencial Santa Eulalia del Rio, inside the Urbanización Siesta, about 20 kilometers from Ibiza town, by Bahader Sidhu and Baldev Sidhu

Da Sidhu, was a small Indian and Italian restaurant, that had a capacity for 54 people. Years later, the restaurant increased its capacity up to 106 people, distributed in 23 tables. Nowadays we also have a covered terrace with an extra 11 tables, and a outdoor capacity for 50 people.

In 1992, a new Restaurant was opened at Ibiza Town with a capacity for 60 people(location)

The restaurant of Ibiza town is very well located, just after the main bus and taxi stop of the center and one hundred meters before the old town (almost next to Vara de Rey, check the location here)

Both restaurants, remain open the whole year, offering Indian and Italian food and the posibility to prepare the dishes to take away

The first indian restaurant in Ibiza

We are specialized in Indian and Italian food, pizzas and pasta are one big part of our menu.

The word "pizza" is thought to have come from the Latin word pinsa, meaning flatbread (although there is much debate about the origin of the word). A legend suggests that Roman soldiers gained a taste for Jewish Matzoth while stationed in Roman occupied Palestine and developed a similar food after returning home. However a recent archeological discovery has found a preserved Bronze Age pizza in the Veneto region. By the Middle Ages these early pizzas started to take on a more modern look and taste. The peasantry of the time used what few ingredients they could get their hands on to produce the modern pizza dough and topped it with olive oil and herbs. The introduction of the Indian Water Buffalo gave pizza another dimension with the production of mozzarella cheese.

Indian Cuisine is characterized by the extensive use of various spices, herbs, and other vegetables, and sometimes fruits grown in India and also for the widespread practice of vegetarianism in Indian society. Each family of Indian cuisine includes a wide assortment of dishes and cooking techniques. As a consequence, it varies from region to region, reflecting the varied demographics of the ethnically-diverse subcontinent.
